The Journal of Lake Sciences (ISSN 1003-5427, http:// www.jlakes.org ) is a bimonthly academic journal, focusing on the recent achievements in environmental protection, ecological evolution, resources exploitation and utilization of lakes (freshwater, brackish and saline lakes), reservoirs and their catchments. Already attracting interest from a variety of researchers and practitioners, the Journal of Lake Sciences is destined to become the natural home and foremost outlet for the limnological research and managements in both industrialized and Third World countries.

Published by Science Press, Beijing since 1989, the Journal of Lake Sciences is sponsored by Nanjing Institute of Geography & Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chinese Society for Oceanology & Limnology. Papers accepted for publication in Journal of Lake Sciences are either written in Chinese with an English abstract attached or in English only.
